Naruto is a manga and anime series that has swept the United States with its story of friendship, succession, betrayal, and comedy. In an action-filled saga like this one, there are always multiple weapons and powerful enhancements to enjoy. Of course, Naruto does not disappoint in this regard.

Sasuke Uchiha’s sword is an awesome weapon. It wasn’t awesome because it carried special abilities or magic powers, but was rather a slightly large chokutō. This weapon was enhanced, instead, by Sasuke’s own strengths; namely his lightning chakra.
By infusing the sword with his chakra the length of the cutting surface, as well as the sharpness of the blade, was increased. This was due to the high-frequency vibrations that were within the blade. Gaara’s Sand Gourd
An urn full of sand doesn’t sound like an effective weapon unless you wanted to throw it at someone. That is not the case for Gaara who has the ability to control the sand he carries around. The sand in his gourd is special in that it is infused with his own chakra.
Not only is the sand within the gourd-shaped container a tool for Gaara, but the gourd and cork to it are both also made of sand. These are used by Gaara as well, as he can reform and refill the tool after it has been used. The expended sand can be replenished by using the sand within it to break up the earth around Gaara into more sand, increasing the amount he has on hand. Might Guy’s Nunchaku
Nunchaku are a weapon commonly associated with martial arts and consist of two blunt ends held together by a length of cord or chain. In Naruto, Might Guy has a pair of nunchaku that have etchings on the wooden handles. These carvings depict the form of Chinese dragons, scales and all.
The use of these items were originally as a rice flail, and then as a practice tool for martial arts students, allowing them to learn the dexterity required to perform the moves. Samehada
Being sentient is not a quality usually found amongst weapons, but Samehada is a sword unlike any other. This weapon was original the blade used by one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and feeds on the chakra of others. Being sentient, this weapon cannot be wielded by just anyone, if Samehada is unhappy with a potential user, it protrudes spikes from its hilt, making it impossible for them to grasp it.
Beyond having a weaponized hilt, Samehada’s unique shape and appearance allow it to do more damage than a standard sword. The scales of its body are used for shredding the things it comes into contact with, causing substantial damage. These scales can also be extended, making them into spikes rather than sawing scales.
When Samehada and its wielder’s foes are at a great distance, its hilt has the ability to stretch and grow, making the sword into a type of flail. Having the ability to cover distance makes Samehada a wonderful asset to whoever it chooses. However, it is known to be a notoriously picky tool, desiring to stay with Kisame Hoshigaki through his death, upon which Samehada mourned him.
The Executioner’s Blade
The Executioner’s Blade is an extremely large weapon resembling a butcher’s knife. This sword is the full length of a grown man with a notch and a cut out in the blade. It is exceptionally heavy due to its size and must be wielded by someone strong.
This blade, also a sword of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, has the special ability of being able to repair itself if it is damaged. Any nicks or chunks, as well as more serious damage like being broken nearly in two, can be regenerated by using the iron in the blood of its victims. Bone
Though bones were not a weapon to be wielded by just anyone, Kimimaro was able to harness special powers and through those, use his own bones as weapons. He was even able to adjust the density of his bones to make them as strong as any steel blade. The ability to control the skeletal structure to such an effect is called “Shikotsumyaku”.
Modifying bone structure can be used for more than just attacks, though. Kimimaro was also able to use the Shikotsumyaku ability as a nearly impenetrable defense. Through this power, he was also able to perform a melding with large bone structures, which allowed for terrifying stealth.
Chakra Blades
Chakra Blades are made of a certain type of metal that helps funnel chakra more easily. Instead of the blades being a “foreign object” it’s as if the blades are actually just another part of the body that your chakra passes through. This is the reason why Asuma Sarutobi, Shikamaru Nara and the late Mirai Sarutobi use these Blades. The Blades make it much easier to use their chakra natures such as wind and shadow. Chakra blades are weapons that you should actually evade rather than block. The reason is that a chakra infused blade is stronger and deadlier than the normal weapon and could likely break a blade that isn’t infused with chakra. The reason why they make the chakra blades so short is that a ninja won’t need the extra length to store more chakra in. The point is to conserve the most amount of chakra to last a duration of a shinobi battle.

Kunai
No shinobi would be caught without carrying kunai. These are very common and versatile weapons used in many different ways. Kunai are small dagger-like knives that have black blades and a circular section past the hilt.
Though kunai are typically used for stabbing and thrusting at close range, they can be used as thrown weapons as well. Throwing a kunai by itself can be done, but by incorporating other tools this item can be a damage delivery service. Explosive Tag
The general concept of an explosive tag is an easy to use bomb that can be detonated in a multitude of different ways. These special strips of paper are able to be set off at a distance with remote detonation, on a timer, or even by catching the paper on fire. They can even be attached to other weapons, such as the kunai, to be delivered with another type of strike.
Words are written on the paper and it is infused with chakra to cause the explosion. Due to the fact they are not limited by fire to detonate, these tags can be used in any weather. These are another of the standard ninja gear that shinobi wouldn’t be caught without.

Smoke Bomb
Smoke bombs are consistently used in action shows. They aren’t the fanciest of weapons, but they are incredibly effective. In Naruto, smoke bombs appear as small balls that are wrapped in paper.
The effect of a smoke bomb is to fill an area with a smoke, usually just to cloud the vision of your opponent. Whether it is to obscure a large area of space to make it easy to get away, or just to hide the actions you are taking, smoke bombs are effective cover. They can also be filled with other gasses, such as poison, sleeping agents, or amnesiacs, to incapacitate the enemy.
